Red Sox Tickets

Boston Red Sox were founded in 1893 as a part of the Toledo, OH franchise in the Western League.  In 1900, the

team moved to Boston when the Western League converted into the American League. In 1901 they were known

as the Boston Americans, in 1902 the Boston Somersets and in 1903 to 1906 the Boston Pilgrims. In 1903, while

known as the Boston Pilgrims, they win their first World Series. Although the Red Sox would endure numerous

owner changes in the following ten years, they would still go on to win four World Series titles in six of those ten.

Their winning streak came to an end when Red Sox owner Harry Frazee sold Babe Ruth to their rival team the New York

Yankees. With the loss of Babe Ruth came the decrease of Boston Red Sox tickets. Many Sox fans followed their favored

“Bambino”.

Known as the Baltimore Orioles from 1901 to 1902 and the New York Highlanders from 1903 to 1910, the New York

Yankees welcome Babe Ruth to the team. After the purchase of Babe Ruth from the Red Sox in January of 1920, The

New York Yankees go on as the superior dynasty in baseballs history.  Ruth’s first year as a Yankee was a season to

remember. He hit 54 home runs breaking his 1919 record of 29. Coming up short just three games, with New York Yankees

tickets on a rise, Yankees proceed to win ninety-five games. After releasing the “Bambino” to the Boston Braves in 1934,

the New York Yankees proceed unimpeded and win the 1938 World Series against the Chicago Clubs.

In the early 1900’s, the Chicago Cubs descended into prolonged doldrums.  By 1918 things began to turn around when

William Wrigley incurred the bulk of the ownership of the Cubs. The Chicago Clubs would than go on to win a pennant

every three years. However, the Cubs do experience a dry spell in not winning a World Series since 1945. In return, fans

are still purchasing Chicago Cubs tickets, believing a World Series win is abundantly overdue.
